NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND INSPECTION PROPOSED BUDGET | LOMPOC UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

The proposed 2025-2026 budget for the Lompoc Unified School District (LUSD) will be available for public inspection at the LUSD Education Center, Reception Desk, 1301 North A Street, Lompoc, CA 93436, on June 6, 2025, during regular working hours.

The public hearing on said budget will be held on June 10, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the LUSD Education Center Board Room, 1301 North A Street, Lompoc.

The budget adoption meeting will be held on June 24, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the LUSD Education Center Board Room.

Dear Buena Vista Families and Community,

Welcome to an exciting new school year at Buena Vista Elementary—home of the Eagles! I am absolutely thrilled to be writing to you as the principal of the very school that helped shape me into the person I am today. That’s right—I’m a Buena Vista alum! Walking these halls again (this time as your principal!) feels like coming home, and I couldn’t be more honored to lead this amazing school.

Whether you're a new family joining us or a returning Eagle, I want you to know that you are a valued part of our Buena Vista family. Our school is a special place where students grow not only academically, but emotionally, socially, and creatively. Every day, I see curiosity sparked, friendships formed, and students rising to their fullest potential.

My educational journey has taken me through TK–12 classrooms in many roles—from teacher to assistant principal, to student council advisor and summer school leader—but building relationships has always been at the heart of everything I do. I believe that when we take the time to know and support one another, anything is possible.

At Buena Vista, we believe in the power of community and collaboration. Our talented teachers and support staff work as a team to deliver high-quality instruction rooted in the California State Standards. Through professional learning communities, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and exciting academic programs, we are focused on providing a safe, motivating, and inclusive learning environment for all our students.

This year, we are continuing to grow our instructional programs using Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and we’re exploring new ways to enrich students' learning experiences, including field trips, and special events!

And we couldn’t do any of it without YOU, our amazing parents, guardians, and community partners. Whether you’re volunteering in a classroom, cheering on a student at an event, or joining us for a PTA meeting, your involvement matters. Together, we make Buena Vista a place where students soar.

My door is always open, and I encourage you to reach out with ideas, questions, or just to say hello. Let’s make this school year one filled with joy, discovery, and growth—for every student, every day.
